The Philosophy

Upasana is a classical dance group formed in 1994 by Deepa Ganesh with the vision of developing the artiste and divinity inherent in the self, with a stress on classicism, dedication and inner beauty. It fosters a unique experience in teaching and learning Indian culture and dance, focusing on the interplay of theory and practice of Bharatanatyam, Indian mythology and Carnatic music.
