About Upasana
 Upasana is a celebration of South Asian art and culture, bringing the very best to the British audience emphasising that tradition is not passé.

“Within 5 months, Upasana has performed 4 times and conducted more than 20 workshops at The Lowry. In a year’s time through 50 performances and workshops, Upasana has addressed an audience of more than 3000 people.”


Artistic Director
Deepa Ganesh, Upasana’s Artistic Director, with more than 25 years of experience, has a strong foundation in bharatanatyam (South Indian classical dance), a keen ear for music, an impeccable sense of timing and a deep interest in Indian culture combined with a dedicated and meticulous approach, making her an excellent artiste and teacher.
